Do youth today have a different attitude towards money and how they spend their money than in the 1960s? today if you look around you’ll see that the youth population has become more and more careless about their splurges. For instance, if we looked back in the the 1960s when Patti Smith was in her youth, we can see a massive difference on how she had to go through certain lengths to become who she is today and it is thanks to hotel chelsea that she was able to have a place to stay for a low cost, any who, Patti Smith did not have the  opportunity to splurges on everything that she wanted like the youth in this generation, in fact she had to work for what she wanted leaving all her things behind and only taking her portfolio with her. Today the youth generation has become too dependant on the material, always on the web and always having access to it, making it impossible to understand  the meaning of working for what you want and earning it by their self, can you imagine asking somebody in this generation to leave there ipods or ps3, that would be catastrophic as if such thing should not even be said.

Although social media has created some positive rapid changes in our lives, there is always the question of our dependence on such technology. The youth in this generation do not even have the time for their friends anymore its only about texting or face timing or when you ask someone to hangout it mostly doesn't even really mean hanging out it's mostly you and that person in the same room texting other people. the concept of how they think now is just misleading and and they have just become too careless about everything.

furthermore in every generation there is something in common and yes they all have there good and there bad and that is what makes it progress by learning from the previous one and we can continue on leaving a better life understanding what we have overcome in each generation.
