So Much Pressure

Teen Angst
What is Angst?  And is it an important aspect of the coming of age process? First of all, angst is a feeling of persistent worry about something trivial in other word, anxiety. Knowing coming of age as a difficult step that everyone must face on day or another in their live, I think it is quite evident that angst is a feature of the coming of age process because teenagers are facing a lot of problem in this stage of their live. This anxiety and fear come from aspects that are very important for any teenagers. The first aspect that makes angst a defining feature in this process is family because teenagers tend to undergo a lot of pressure from their peers which creates a constant feeling of worry and fear. As soon as a teenager does something that is not acceptable by his family, the fear of being rejected take place instantly which is followed by the feeling of a persistent worry. In the other hand, some teenagers are constantly arguing with their peers. I think these confrontations create a sense of fear in teenagers because they don’t know what will happen. Moreover, unsupported and abnormal parents also make angst an important feature of this process because teenagers with abnormal parents always worry about how people, mainly their friends, perceive their parents like Baby in ``Lullabies for Little criminals when her classmates were laughing about her dad. Education is the second reason why angst is a defining process of coming of age because most of the teenagers are going to school. Even though school is a good place to be, there is a lot of problem that teenagers are facing. Like Alex who ``wasn't looking forward to the first day of school`` because he was worried about making new friend, or getting lost. After school, friendship is another aspect that causes angst a defining process of the coming process. Nowadays, `` The boundaries between friendship and sexual relationships have never been more blurry and it starts with teens who have to make decisions about “hooking up “ with a “friend” at a party because that’s what people are doing.`` this situations create a lot of unease and stress  because teenagers do not know where they are leading them which make the teenagers feel constantly worry. Unfortunately, this is only one of the problems that friendship can generate. As another example, just say No to drugs offered by friends at an event also creates tension because he might reject you the next day. By adding all of these aspects together, we realize how difficult the coming of age process is because of stress and anxiety that teenagers are facing. I hope you all will have a real pleasure reading this text that I wrote for you.
