What is awaiting for youth today? youth today are determined, so I believe that there should be a hint of optimism. I myself is very optimistic about this generation, because there are so many opportunities for us. Looking back at our parents generation we could clearly see that there was not much opportunities for them and for that reason some of them have much more expectations for their kids, to do something and be better then what they have become. Making it understandable why we are constantly being pushed and being forced to do better things and having to get straight A’s in every class even the ones you’re not quite good at. Having the expectations of youth today acting a certain way as if we are robots and have absolutely no flaws, let’s be honest in our parents eyes we are like trophies we are the picture perfect image of them so they take the advantage to mole you into what they wanted to be growing up. Today’s young people need to calculate their every move and work hard to build a record of accomplishment that might help them stand out in the competition for a good job. As a matter of fact in 2012 Pew Research Center study entitled “Young, Underemployed and Optimistic” noted that: Despite the Great Recession and the sluggish recovery that followed, young adults remain extremely confident about their financial future. While a large majority of those ages 18 to 34 (whether they are employed or not) say they do not currently have enough money to lead the kind of life they want, most believe they will eventually attain that goal. According to the new Pew Research survey, only 31% of all young adults say they now have enough income to lead the kind of life they want. However, an additional 57% say that while they don’t have enough money now, they think they will in the future. Only one-in-ten (9%) say they don’t have enough now to lead the kind of life they want and don’t believe they ever will (edu). I believe that this is due to the encouragement that they are being forced upon, to because better in fact, a majority of Canadian teenagers (57per cent) believe their quality of life as adults will surpass their parents.
