Young People are optimistic about the future!
Yes, I am optimistic about today's youth. Obviously this doesn't go for all of youth. Youth now a days want the extreme of everything and to get that is by having money. And by having that kind of money, you need to be successful in life. Youth also want peace around the world. Which will be youth all around the world, meaning from poor countries to countries that live comfortably.
I read an article called "Youth, Optimism and Peace", published on august 14th, 2014.
In this article they asked 1.8 billion young people around the world what they think about the future. They said that "86% of youth living in less peaceful countries feel optimistic about the future and 50% of youth living in more peaceful countries feel optimistic about the future. These percentages just goes to show that a lot of youth are positive about the future." So this goes to show my point from above, that youth are pretty optimistic about their future.
I also read another article called, "Work, Youth, Optimism and the drive toward a safe sustainable planet, by Steve Cohen published 20/08/2014.http://blogs.ei.columbia.edu/2014/08/20/work-youth-optimism-and-the-drive-toward-a-safe-sustainable-planet/ They did a study:
"In fact, in the immediate aftermath of the Great Recession, a 2012 Pew Research Center study entitled “Young, Underemployed and Optimistic” noted that:
Despite the Great Recession and the sluggish recovery that followed, young adults remain extremely confident about their financial future. While a large majority of those ages 18 to 34 (whether they are employed or not) say they do not currently have enough money to lead the kind of life they want, most believe they will eventually attain that goal. According to the new Pew Research survey, only 31% of all young adults say they now have enough income to lead the kind of life they want. However, an additional 57% say that while they don’t have enough money now, they think they will in the future. Only one-in-ten (9%) say they don’t have enough now to lead the kind of life they want and don’t believe they ever will."
I find that now a days, kids are a lot more aware of what goes on around the world. I think one of the reasons why. is that we have very advanced technology. You can pretty much find anything you want on the internet. Personally at the age of 17. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. But one thing I did know was that I wanted to be successful. It's alright if youth take their time with their education. Another benefit we have is that its very easy to get a student loan. Which more people need to get an education in a university degree.I think youth also have a drive to succeed so they can live the life they want.
