Youth: The Innovators of Today’s Society

According to A Pew Research Centre Study conducted in 2012 concerning attitudes of the youth today, they concluded that: young people today plan for the future in order to influence outcomes they have confidence they can influence. Their belief in a better future remains intact”.

I am certainly optimistic of the youth today, as I believe the youth themselves are optimists. Today’s youth are certainly optimists; they believe that positive change in the world is feasible.

Let us consider Emma Watson, a young actress of 24 years old. Shortly after graduating from college, she is named the UN Woman Goodwill Ambassador, and presents a speech at the UN headquarters concerning Feminism and gender. She launches the “HeForShe” Campaign, which encourages men and boys around the world to help end inequalities women face worldwide on a daily basis. Emma Watson is optimistic that by launching this campaign she can make a difference in the lives of millions of women, and work towards her goal of ending gender inequality. She certainly believes that change is feasible concerning the matter, and takes action in order to attain positive results.

Emma Watson, an optimist, with the belief that the equality of men and women in the world is attainable.

Secondly, let us consider a study done by A Pew Research Centre in 2012 called “Young,Underemployed, and Optimistic”. This study was conducted after the Great Recession, and observed young adults that consisted of youth as of 18 years of age. The study observed that shortly after the Great Recession, and throughout the very slow recovery, the youth had remained extremely optimistic and positive concerning their financial futures. This is evident, as the young adults explained that, although they do not have enough money in order to live the life they wish to at the moment, they certainly believe that they will achieve this money in their futures. They believe this goal is feasible, and that the recovery of the recession will be achieved by taking necessary actions. The same research company later redid this study, and 57% of the youth explained that they believe they will attain their financial goals in the future. Over 50% of the youth are optimistic concerning their finances, and are expecting positive outcomes. They are optimistic that the economy, as well as their own personal finances will improve, and success will be attained in the future.

The youth are optimists; they believe that their finances will improve over time by taking action, and working towards their goals.

The youth in today’s society are evidently optimistic. They believe that change is feasible, and that with effort is most certainly attainable. I definitely believe the youth of today have a great deal of positivity, and are working in hopes of a better future. Not only is Emma Watson working towards creating a positive change in the world, but as stated in the Pew Research Study, many youth are working towards improving their own finances, and are very optimistic that they will be able to do so.

Without a doubt I am optimistic about today’s youth; the youth demonstrate much optimism through their actions and their beliefs. They are innovators, and seem to be working towards a positive future world.
